Great Marsh Park

Great Marsh Park is located on the Choptank River in Cambridge, MD. It's a fairly large city park and there is a launch ramp and docks for fishing. There is a also small sandy beach for wading or playing in the sand. The playground was recently upgraded with new equipment with a nature theme and interactive signs. There is a hollow tree "cave", a spinning mushroom with toadstool steps, "trees" for climbing, a giant bee and a giant ant with hollow ant nest, with a nice walking path connecting everything. There is also a traditional climbing/slide set in the middle. It is usually fairly clean and I've never had issues with any people here. This is one of our kids favorite playgrounds now. There is a pavilion with picnic tables, and there are some scattered trees for shade in the playground area. There is generally one "port-a-potty" bathroom in the area. The park is surrounded on three sides by the river, so it is somewhere you need to keep a close watch on kids who like to wander. This is also where they set off the fireworks for the 4th of July, so it's possible to get a clear view.

Can I Ingress Here?

The Google game Ingress, for Android and iPhone, is a GPS-based "capture the flag" game that interacts with "portals". These portals are real world locations that you have to physically go to, such as historical places, artwork, sculptures, parks and other public places, to interact with them via your device. This "game" is an awesome way to get out and see the world around you. www.ingress.com
